In
June of 2002 The Lasansky Dance Theater Ensemble had its premiere
performance at the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland Maine for
the opening reception of James Wyeth’s show, Capturing Nureyev.
Performances
consist of dance works choreographed and directed by Jimena
Lasansky and performed throughout the year by dancers from the
Lasansky School of Dance.
The
choreography, drawing from modern, ballet and theatrical
techniques, includes a range from solos to septets and is set to
a wide selection of musical compositions.
